The installation process for your ASHP will depend on the type of pump you get. Many of them will, however, follow a specific installation plan. Knowing the basics of the installation process will ensure that you follow keenly as the contractor installs the pump so they do not miss anything. The first step is the outdoor installation process. Here the contractor will get the best position for the pump and install it.  Once that is done, the pump will be connected to the ducts and vents pre-installed in the home. The wiring and electricity will come in next, after which the unit will be tested and any flaws fixed.

One of the biggest perks of an air source heat pump is longevity when you buy it. While there is no definite answer to how long your ASHP should last you, it is meant to last up to 20 years. The longevity of your ASHP will depend solely on how well you take care of it. If you neglect it, the chances are it will not get you to the estimated time. Since most of the air source heat pumps come with a warranty of five years, if you do not take care of it, that means you cannot ask for it to get replaced.  Carry out regular maintenance on it, and it will last you longer.
